On Wednesday, May 4th, the HALO Foundation hosted an event at the Merriman Assisted Living Facility to announce the building of the Flight 93 Mobile Museum. The mobile museum will be used as an educational tool for schools, organizations, and individuals. What is unique about the mobile museum is the fact that it is mobile! Now groups who haven’t been able to make it to the National Memorial in Shanksville, PA can get the opportunity to learn about the heroism of the passengers and crew of Flight 93 in their own town.
Students from Judith A. Resnik and St. Vincent St. Mary school’s were present for the press release announcement. After the announcement, the students took part in a Flight 93 Medallion project with the senior citizens of the Merriman. It was a wonderful event and a great time was had by all.
The University of Akron has joined forces with the HALO Foundation to produce and complete the Mobile Museum. Blueprints were released during the 2016 Spring Semester at the University and production will be underway in the near future.
